Can I give zero stars? Purchased 38 Green Giant trees in September ($3800). By January 14 of them have totally died. I followed all watering and planting instructions, had them professionally planted. Called Bay Gardens several times (been calling for three weeks). No one is responding to my calls, I’m told the person to speak to is busy and that they will call me back after they speak to the owner, which never happened. At this point I will take my business elsewhere! Stay away!

I had some general ideas for additional landscaping on our property in Hampton Bays but, landscaping not being my forte, we decided to contract with Bay Gardens. Justin came to our house and laid out which plants would be best in each of the 5 locations I indicated. A few weeks later, he arrived with his team and planted 126 trees, shrubs and small plants. The attached pictures show two of the areas. Their installation fee was more than the other nurseries I spoke to but it was worth it as the result was above and beyond our highest expectations. I would recommend Justin and Bay Gardens very highly.

As a plant nursery, Bay Gardens has a good selection of plants. Last year I bought few trees and selected their delivery and installation service( it is pretty expensive though). I bought two "Red sunset" maple ( Acer rubrum Franksred) trees( 2.5 inch caliper). The saddest part is, I don't think my maple trees are really the " Red sunset maple". During past fall season the color became only light Orange/yellow. Last year's fall folliage picture is also attached and that is the "red color" for the so called "red sunset maple"!..

Later I checked with one of the tree experts. He also told me that, the trees may not be the exact red sunset maple variant. The twigs and small branches are grey color. For a good red sunset maple which has vibrant fall color, the twigs and small branches will always have a "red color tone ". Also the leaves will be light green not dark green. My maples look like the invasive " silver maple trees" which has dark green leaves. I am not at all happy with my maple trees that I bought from Bay garden. I never recommend buying any maple trees from them. On a good note, the other trees ( Kwansan cherry trees) and other plants that I bought from them are good.

Amazing nursery with a diverse selection of trees, bushes, shrubs, and flowers. Beautifully filled greenhouses, Walpole products, and more. Their gift shop is delightful and fanciful with angels and sayings to make you smile. The staff is excellent, friendly, and helpful. And the other bonus is their prices are great for the value.

Went into Bay Garden just to look around and start getting ideas for my pots. I met Sharon and she was just incredibly knowledgeable and just such a wonderful person to deal with. After a few minutes chatting I’ve decided I will let her handle all the planting of my pots. The nursery is beautiful with a huge selection!! The gift shop is absolutely gorgeous and all employees were so kind. I will be a forever customer.

I can’t wait for spring to get here! I recently finished up my year end 2023 shopping with the help of Mary and can’t wait to be able to do it again in the spring! It’s hard to believe that Mary has over 30 years of experience in the business, she looks like a kid, but she really has a plethora of knowledge in all areas from having flowers blooming through the seasons of spring, summer and fall, to planting times for trees and new shrubbery!
Looking forward to doing more business with Bay Gardens this spring of 2024!
