I LOVE this place. My first time going was when I was just a little girl and I’ve been going every since. It is very peaceful and full of life, even when you’re alone. The owners Pam Basu and Basu Basu are very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. The property is always up-kept and every plant, flower, and vegetable is precisely placed. They have a store and a museum here as well! Yesterday I bought some all natural Panther Balm that was handmade by Mrs. Basu. She has organic jellies, jams, relishes, shampoos, butters, perfumes and balms! She also has African decorative art, items and clothing. I cannot wait to return and enjoy the ambiance again. I would highly recommend this place.

This place is off the chain. Some of the best organic vegetable in illinois. It is a natural vegetarian farm no Gmo, no pesticides and no irrigation. You can eat right out of the fields. The canned and pickled veggies will make you want to hollar they are so good. The hand made hot sauce, salsa and chow chow are to die for. There is a section on the farm that grows 50 or better varieties of day lillies which you can buy , plus a host of other native plants. . The native herb garden has everything. You name it you will find servral species of it. The white corn and tonatoes are the sweetes ever. You have to get there early when the crops are ripe , especially for beans.. My favoriate are the purple hulls. People come from everywhere and they sell out quick . The country store has all sorts of tinctures, oils, creams and potions all made right there. Its a nice place to visit. They have a Marcus Garvey festival every year. In august. Which is fun, educational and good eating.
