Not Satisfied – Poor Customer Service and Quality

We hired Altered Grounds Landscape for a project and, unfortunately, were very disappointed with the outcome.

1. Smaller Plants Than Requested – Despite specifically asking for larger, more developed plants, they planted the smallest ones available. This was a major letdown as it was a key part of our expectations.
2. Difficult Communication – Getting in touch with this company was a struggle. Their phone customer service is, at best, 2 stars. It was hard to reach anyone, and no one consistently answered calls.
3. Plant Loss – Approximately 30% of the plants they installed died within 90 days, despite us following all of the recommended watering and care instructions.
4. Unhelpful Response – When we reached out for advice or possible solutions, they quickly assumed we were asking for free replacements and dismissed our concerns without offering any real help. The customer service was dismissive and unprofessional.
5. No Follow-Up – After we responded to their poor handling of the situation, we never heard back. It’s clear they don’t care about customer satisfaction or addressing issues once the project is completed.

In today’s service-driven world, Altered Grounds falls far short. Their lack of care and poor communication shows they are not committed to providing quality service. We do not recommend them.

Josh and his team did a amazing job on my pool. Josh came to meet me in person with his engineer and we designed the perfect pool for my yard and family. The 3D design helped paint the picture for my yard and Josh helped make my dream of a pool for my family come true. The project manager Rob kept me informed thru the entire process. The workers especially William did an amazing job on my pool and my yard and pool look amazing now. If you want the pool of your dreams and done with first class service and expertise use this company. Josh and his team made me feel like family.

Josh, Jeremy, Rob and the entire crew were consummate professionals for our project. From start to finish, they communicated clearly and concisely exactly what they were going to do at any given time. They were also quick to reply back whenever I had questions about the progress and anything service related once the project was complete.

I chose Altered Grounds because I wanted a company who could handle everything from the landscaping, lighting and new patio to the complete design and install of our new in-ground pool. They did it all with complete professionalism and made this process way easier than I anticipated when I first started to get bids. You won't be disappointed if you choose them to design and build your new backyard oasis!

I am not kidding when I say this company BLEW ME AWAY. We got a gorgeous inground pool installed by them in less than 3 weeks in September 2021. Their team shows up every day and works so incredibly hard. Josh and Jeremy are very responsive throughout the process and I still can't believe how quickly we were able to get a pool through them!! (Most pool companies wouldn't even respond to a quote request.)

I live in a neighborhood where multiple families put in pools during the pandemic and our install went the best by far. While other people waited months - we were swimming less a month after we signed a contract with them. If I could give them 10 stars I would!!

We are already dreaming of summer over here!

Altered Grounds did a fabulous job on putting in our pavilion and out door fireplace. Very professional and easy to work with. We are 100% satisfied, can not compliment them enough with the beautiful job they did. They started and completed the job as promised. We highly recommend them!

Altered grounds is without a doubt a superior landscape company. It doesn't matter the size of your project, doesn't matter what you are trying to do they can do it. If you have a project that needs to be done in a timely manner there isn't another landscape company capable of meeting your needs within a specific timeframe more than alter grounds. If you are looking to spruce up your home, have a pool installed, or build a landscape monstrosity in your backyard I would highly recommend you use altered grounds.

I called Altered Grounds to help with some landscaping and Jill came out within a few days after my call, I received the bid within a few days and was on the schedule after I approved it for 2-3 weeks out. They called almost 2 weeks ahead of time and got me in. They showed up and got all the landscaping done within a few hours. Cleaned everything up too! Would highly recommend them for landscaping, they are also taking care of my pool and have been extremely happy with the service I have received.

We hired Altered Grounds to make some repairs to our landscaping after it was destroyed when we had new utility service ran to our house. We were absolutely thrilled with the professionalism and attention to detail they gave to our project. We had no idea how much better they could make things look! Josh was also extremely patient and understanding while he waited to be paid by the utility company. I cannot say enough good things about this company. They are wonderful!
