Alpenglow Restaurant, located adjacent to the Grand Denali Lodge, offers a delightfully upscale dining experience with its charming ambiance, impeccable service, and creative cuisine.

Ambiance: 5/5
With a breath taking view of the Alaska Range, and rustic wooden furnishings, The Alpenglow is truly a gem.

Service: 5/5
The staff provides exceptional service, from warm greetings to knowledgeable menu recommendations. Their genuine hospitality enhances the dining experience.

Food: 5/5
The menu features fresh, locally influenced dishes. For an appetizer the Reindeer and Melon Flatbread was light, fresh, and incredibly flavorful. The Pork Shanks were hearty and tasted great with the reindeer sausage. The Shrimp and Grits were the best shrimp and grits I have ever had! The grits were incredibly creamy and the shrimp tasted fresh and was seasoned to perfection. Desserts like the Coffee Cake Bread Pudding are the perfect end to the meal.

Value: 5/5
While on the pricier side, the quality of food, service, and ambiance justifies the cost.

Overall: 5/5
The Alpenglow is a must-visit if you find yourself in the area, offering an enchanting dining experience that delights and leaves a lasting impression.

The food was good, but the portion size was really small for $46 for the Halibut. The appetizer was delicious. I really wanted to try the salmon, but they had already reserved every bit of salmon that they had to the cruise ship that came in. There were several customers that were wanting the salmon, but they were told no also. The service was not very good. I understand they were alittle busy, but please take care of one customer to a certain degree before moving on to another. We always had to ask other workers besides our waiter for assistance. He went to every table around us, but us to assist. If I come back to Alaska, I will not revisit this restaurant and will not recommend it to anyone.

To those who love to see alaska for all its beauty from moutain view, this place is spectacular. But if you wish to enjoy the fresh delights of foods that alaska has to offer, I highly recommend not coming here unless you come to just enjoy a bit of soup and appetizer.

I came to the resteraunt when they opened and even reserved a table for me and one other friend in advance so we could fully enjoy all that the resteraunt had to offer. We ended up staying for three hours for the two of us to have soup, appetizer, dinner, and dessert. And to any local, they would know, it doesn't take 45 minutes to cook a salmon.

Sadly, the only thing enjoyable was our hostess being so kind and caring to us, soup, and appetizer. To end up paying a bit over $100 a person and get sub-par meals is very disappointing.

For this, I will not return and stay to my passion to keep to local mom and pop places. For you can taste the love and passion they put into their dishes, and not bury it in kosher salt.

The restaurant is in the main building of the Denali Grande Lodge. The staff was very kind and seated me and attended me well. The restaurant has a nice cozy vibe.
However, the food was not it. I ordered pesto pasta and a drink. The pasta did not taste well but I was starving and still ate what I could. I don't remember what I drank but I remember the drink was okay, I just wish it was served in a bigger glass since I had a big plate of food. I spent $44 on this meal 🙁

Incredible food with incredible views of the the national park. Great service. I had the braised pork shanks and the seafood chowder. Highly recommended! Also, Fabi and Charissa at the bar made me one heck of a signature old fashioned.

Beautiful views. Can’t beat them. I love cooking and love Brussels sprouts. I’ve never had better Brussel sprouts anywhere else ever. Super crispy and flavorful. Also got the halibut. I’ve never had halibut before so I can’t compare it to anything but I really liked it. Drinks were great too.

3 stars at best. Took quite a while to get my cocktail which I ordered immediately, but it came after my dinner arrived. Had to return our appetizer (Arancini) since it was still cold in the middle. Potato chips were kinda burnt. Halibut was good. Pasta with shrimp was good too (4 year old ate it). No issues with our server but $90 for all that? Not sure I'd return.

*They did give us 2 scoops of strawberry ice cream before leaving and took the appetizer off the bill*

My husband and I ate dinner at Alpenglow three evenings during our stay at the Lodge and were delighted each time with the food, the service and the ambiance. The menu is varied--one night we made a meal out of appetizers and had entrees the other evenings. The staff is busy but very friendly and eager to please in a good way. The salmon and halibut entrees were outstanding. The crab cakes and hummus and edamame dip were great, as well as the shrimp cocktail. We definitely recommend the restaurant!
