This supermarket has been a staple in the Jackson Heights community for decades. The selection is always fresh and well-stocked, with a wide variety of quality halal meats, spices, and international groceries.

What truly sets this place apart is the exceptional customer service. The staff is warm, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. They go above and beyond to make shopping a pleasant experience every time. They are led by the store owner, Montu Uncle, who is on the ground with his staff, day in and day out. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great products and even better service!

Used to be a great place to purchase fresh meat. However the butcher Motin (he had worked here for more than a decade) is no longer working at Akota (I believe he went back to his home country Bangladesh). The replacement guys don't know what they are doing. Meat quality has also gone downhill since than. Cashier (the bengali guy with the glasses) in front is always stuck up and rude. My last choice place to go if I don't have no other choice to get goat meat.

My regular place to shop meats but you guys really need to prioritize SANITATION, the butcher guy never wear GLOVES, consider wearing GLOVES good for him & good for CUSTOMERS.

The ATM charges $4.50 for using it but It says it charges you 1.99. deceptive

A Decent neighborhood store otherwise. Keep in mind that the name is Halal if you want to buy beer/ alcohol. They don't sell it

DO NOT buy meat products from this place. Extremely unhygienic and gross. The butchers do not sanitize the work area, and are educated on food safety. There was blood on cutting board with a piece of beef which seemed as if it was lying there for a while. The guy brought a chicken out for me with bare hands, started cutting it on the blood covered surface no washing hands or gloves and even worse right after handing the chicken came out and started stocking the shelves with other food products in glass jar without washing and sanitizing his hands I didn’t take the chicken this’s the grossest thing i have ever seen.

Customer care services are very helpful and they care about their products quality which I liked most!!
I would recommend shopping at Akota to anyone! Great quality and great personalities!!! Staffs are really friendly and respectful!!
