They will only fill your residential tank if you let them run your credit, I told them I can do COD which they claim they offer but when I ask for a price they send me a credit app.

I’ve reached out several times since then about getting a delivery and paying cash with no response

Affordable Propane was there for me when I had to change propane companies years ago. Their employees are the most kind, caring and knowledgable.
The drivers are careful when they come in my yard, as I have pets.
Their prices ARE affordable.

Update: 03 21 2023... Apparently the temporary fix done last November (mounting a second, screw on valve on top of my tanks faulty fill valve), did not solve the issue. A very slow leak continued, and ALL of my propane leaked out. 150 gallons GONE.

A different repair technician from the Blue Flame location in Nunn, came out today, and he completely replaced the faulty valve on the tank. My tank was built in 1963, and that fill valve on it was the ORIGINAL one, as far as I know.

You know, the repair tech had to use all his strength. The old valve looked rusted, at the point of connection with the tank. I was amazed the repair tech was able to get the old valve removed! (He really should carry a piece of pipe in his truck, for added leverage on his pipe wrench.) I was afraid he was going to hurt himself, but he managed to use two pipe wrenches together, to remove the bad valve. Otherwise, he would of had to leave and send someone else to do the repair, and that would've meant waiting a few more days.

Since my tank was empty, there were no pumping out charges, but I still owe $535 for the repair. (I was told that a different style of tank with more replaceable parts, costs around $1,000 to fix. One fill valve alone is worth approx. $300 or more.)

Since a new tank costs around $2,500 to $3,000, I figure it was worth the investment to repair and save my tank. Affordable allowed me to charge for the repair, which I appreciated since I'd just suffered the loss of someone in my family, and financially speaking, I couldn't afford to get this done without their credit offer on my account. That included the first fill of propane, after the repair work had been finished. So I owe them for the repair AND 250 gals. of liquid propane.

They did offer me the option of leasing a new tank from them, which runs under $200 a yr. However, I'm not planning on moving anywhere, and if you do the math, over a few years that really adds up. My advice to you, if you're in the same spot I was in, is to have your tank fixed. Also, if you get one of those temporary repair valves, make sure the technician is coming back SOON, to permanently fix the tank.

Nov. 12, 2023...
Have been a customer for years. First time needing a repair. This morning I saw a brown stain on my white, 500 gal propane tank. Upon inspection, I saw a drip of liquid coming off one side
of the fill valve. I shut the gas off to my home immediately. It also smelled pretty strong. I called the company and left a voicemail on the emergency number. A call back from them assured me they had someone in the service dept. going to contact me soon. A service tech named Jose called me and asked a few questions. Even though it's the weekend, Jose sent a service tech out to my house, and a temporary valve was installed to stop the leak. My propane in the tank was saved and I have heat thanks to their awesome technician. Thank you so much!

This is a great location for all my propane needs and at a very reasonable price. The new dock set up is great and makes it more of a streamline process to fill my tanks. I receive stellar customer service from the girl at the front desk and won't go anywhere else!

When Dave was the owner of Affordable Propane, I would have given them 10 stars. Since the acquisition, I had to switch companies after a year of being unable to get my tank filled with weeks' notice. Many times, Ray at Fred's Propane (THANK YOU, Ray) was granted clearance to fill my tank since my home was not in a convenient range for them to deliver gas before I would run out. Ultimately, I was told that they would be cancelling my account since I lived too far into the Hills (I am 6 miles from Boulder).
Since I have had a new tank installed, I have tried to get them to pick up their tank for months now. They keep telling me they will call me back when they can fit me into their schedule.
Not only could I never get gas without a hassle, now I cannot get them to pick up a 1K gallon tank that is sitting precariously in the middle of my yard.
If you are shopping for excellent service and you don't want to call multiple times and continue to have to follow up without results, either go with Fred's or Polar.
UPDATE: The tank was picked up a day after I left this review, so I am increasing my 1-star to 4.

I've had a similar experience with Affordable Propane's excellent customer service as some of the other reviewers here. I'm talking VERY, VERY excellent customer service. I wish half of the small businesses I visit were like this.

I came in with a 30lb tank to fill and was immediately greeted by a young woman before I got out of my car. (I didn't catch her name) She came out and waved at me with a smile, as if we were long time friends. She immediately asked how she could be of service and offered to carry my tank to their fill station. (which I did not let her do, but WOW...how thoughtful) While filling up, she was genuinely friendly and seemed to be enjoying her day! She made MY day even better with her cheery demeanor...and we're filling a propane tank! Sometimes you come across folks that just give good vibes. This young woman, filling my propane tank, had all the good!!

I'm definitely never filling my tanks anywhere but Affordable Propane!
