I love history and visited today with a guide. I made sure I visited on the weekend to ensure there was a guide available.

Beautiful artwork and a ton of history! I think my favorite was the costumes! Each room has its own purpose with so much information to absorb!

The koi pond was a pleasant and relaxing surprise! Nice shaded courtyard as well.

It's really cheap to visit and it's a great historical place in Oroville!

Such a cool local educational experience with an extensive amount of historical artifacts that came from China. The docent was so interesting and culturally sensitive and aware: he’s a valuable resource and community gem! I’m so glad we came from San Francisco and did the tour and definitely recommend! Learning about the history of Chinese immigrants in Oroville is a worthwhile visit. Fyi, the temple only accepts cash and checks.

Admission is $4 per person, cash only.

I was born and raised in China. I have been to many grand temples in China. But the place hits different. It was built by the Chinese traveled here during the Gold Rush. Exploring the lives of the Chinese in Northern California from a century ago is truly fascinating.

This place resembles more of a shrine than a temple because "temple" is generally used for Buddhist religious worship and the living quarters of monks. This place is dedicated to various mythological deities, including the plaque that reads "Hall of the Sacreds."
