Drove out to here after going to Lena Brewing Company, where their beer as at best mediocre, and they keep raising their prices. Not the easiest place to find, but worth the detour. Our first time there was Father's Day 2017 (June 18). Was a beautiful summer day. We drank outside in the biergarten. Place was very busy, so I was ordering two beers at a time at the bar. A nice variety of beers. I really liked the collaboration beer that they did with Pig Minds. The owners were extremely welcoming, was almost like you were at their home. . .🤔. . .well I guess you are. My only complaint is that they aren't open more, so I could drink their delicious beer more often.

What a tremendous place!

The flight was a sight to see, the beer was tasty, and the atmosphere was great for the whole family.

I have never been to a brewery that has this large of a flight available and each of the pours were 6 ounces. There was an excellent variety of beer and the unique tastes they have created made the sampler even more fun. I also enjoyed that the focus was not all on the IPA craze, but that is a personal preference.

My children were able to find a nice table to sit with us and were welcomed when they came in the door. There were also cards on each table and I am sure there were other games to be played. We went on a gloomy rainy day, so we didn't get a chance to enjoy the outdoor drinking area.

You won't be sorry if you take a short detour off Highway 20 on your trip between Rockford and Galena.

I can't say enough good things about Wishful. We always have a great time visiting. The beer menu always has a variety of styles and flavors to appeal to any taste. Top notch. Sprinkle in beer slushies and occasional food trucks in the summer and it's a great way to spend an hour or an afternoon enjoying the outdoor seating. Winter or weather not the greatest? Plenty of seating inside too. The atmosphere is always friendly. Penny and Nate do a great job. Feels like gathering with friends every time we go.

This is one of THE best microbreweries we have been to, and we have been all over New England and out West. Just an awesome pub in a small Midwest farm building, and delicious beer!! Their beer is consistently excellent. And Nate and Penny are an amazing couple! Definitely try this place!
