Outside Inn is a wonderful affordable place to stay in Nevada City. Tucked into a neighborhood, with rooms of different sizes, nice decor, and nice things like good wireless, a frig and microwave and a no little Mr Coffee.
There’s a little pool under the redwoods, very relaxing, but not a lap pool.
Our room was small but we didn’t mind, we were out and about most of the time.
The service is wonderful. The folks that run things were great! They took really good care of us, and that was the very best thing!

We really enjoyed our stay at Outside Inn for Mother's Day weekend. It was such a peaceful property. Our reservation was for the River Room which was spacious and comfortable enough to fit our dog's bed and baby's pack'n'play. The Inn is a quick pleasant walk to downtown Nevada City, but you are far enough away that you don't get the noise from the bars. If we are ever back in Nevada City we would stay here again.

The oom was clean, bed very good with great pillows. Very comfortable with all the amenities you would need. Nice little area to sit out and have your own happy hour. In addition, the owner is lovely. Great location for restaurants and hiking.

Well we loved the Outside Inn. Everything about the quaint room was just right. They provide everything anyone might need. The hosts are lovely. We appreciated their personal approach and friendliness. An easy walk to downtown as well as a neighborhood feel. We loved it so much we booked for 2 nights in December so we can come back for the Nevada City Christmas events. We can’t wait to go back!

The Outside Inn is a uniquely special country inn just a walk from the lively old town Nevada City where the restaurants, shops and music will amaze you. The inn features a loop of adjoining and independent cottages (room & suites) each with a theme - Paddlers, rock climbing, wildflower, celestial, winter, anglers, woodland, single-track, etc. There is a nice creek flowing just outside the rooms on the south side. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed The proprietors are very friendly & accommodating. Dogs are welcome. You will be glad you stayed there.

Best affordable place to stay in Nevada City. Tucked into a nice neighborhood an easy walk into town. Everything you need, clean and charming, and wonderful service. ||We had a small room, but there are larger ones. Comfy bed, frig, microwave, Mr Coffee, Wi-Fi, sweet little swimming pool, spots to relax and even have a little bbq.

We had concert tix for a show in Grass Valley. We checked in at 3P, greeted by one of the new owners, Sham. He was quite friendly.||||We walked around Nevada City (a three minute walk to Downtown!) and walked along the Deer Creek Tribute Trail to the gorgeous suspension walking bridge called the Nisenan Tribute Bridge or “Anqkula Seo." My mind was blown by the winter gorgeousness.||||The room was cozy and charming. It's not bougie at all. It's sweet, comfortable, homey, and old-timey. The bedding was wonderful (and smelled good!), and the beds were just right—neither too firm nor too soft. The water pressure of the shower was delicious (and as a native Californian—sinfully strong). The water tastes divine. The heating in the room was fast and easy to adjust.||||Upon checkout I spoke with Sham and Gita, thanking them. Gita is as warm as Sham. They’re new(ish) owners. The only feedback I have is that when they can—they should do a thorough check out of the cafes and restaurants in town so they can give firsthand guidance to local places.||||I’ll stay again for sure.

We love the Outside Inn! The Cottage is perfect for our family. The kitchen and living room are cozy but with plenty of room to relax. We also love the fun outdoor themes of the other rooms. The property is beautiful year round with a summer pool and creek. Lovely short walk to the center of town. Owners and staff are great!
