Outstanding day in the Chugachs. The equipment, guides (Rich & Micah), terrain and thankfully weather lived up to the best of our imagination. We had fresh lines and sparkling snow, a great mountain lunch and a ton of fun. You’ve got to do this at least once in your life, and I’d be hard pressed to imagine regretting do it with the pros at CPG.

Great operation! Fantastic base location at Girdwood airport, great staff, excellent terrain right out back from Alyeska resort. Super convenient if you are staying anywhere near Girdwood. Extra props to Rich who was a great guide!

Amazing experience from top to bottom. A friend and I did their 4 day package and it was the best skiing I have ever done with a really professional group of people.

Making sure to give us the type of skiing we were looking for while being as safe as possible.

I plan on being back many times with this company.

This was hands-down the best snowboarding experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. The staff, the pilot, and even the group I got placed in was absolutely amazing. I was weathered out for three days unfortunately when I first got to Alaska, and I actually had to extend my trip for one more day to make it up for what has been a huge bucket list item for me and it was more than I ever could have expected. The best conditions. The best hospitality. The best views. It was just unreal. I will come back every year! And that’s coming from someone who snowboards all over the world. Alaska is just unbelievable. 1 small tip would be to leave your trip open ended for an unknown amount of days if you can. Just incase you get weathered out. Or… Book a few days out instead of just 1 or 2 to really make sure you get a slot!

The best. I’m not going to be able to explain how epic this day was, but I would like to share my experience with other people who may be interested in skiing with CPG.

We did a single heli day, the first time for our group of 4 friends. Shoutout to our pilot John, I was blown away by the amazing flying on display. Our guide for the day, George, is the man. He hooked us up with the goods even though our group is far from the best and brightest on the hill. Our crew has a lot of character, and George kept the stoke high while taking the antics of “Straightline Steve” and “Wild Man Dan” easily in stride.

Our entire group agreed that safety was consistently prioritized and emphasized throughout the entire process. Safety brief and gear issuing and familiarization (shovel/beacon/probe, airbag backpack, harness, radios all provided) was easy, clear, and efficient. George and the rest of the team got us to amazing snow and incredibly aesthetic lines, all while effectively mitigating risk. It was an amazing experience to see open crevasses on our approaches, observe avalanches and rockfall on unstable aspects and slopes across the valley, and then be able to ski our lines with complete confidence due to the expertise, experience, and professionalism of the CPG team. Radios issued to the whole team made communication, directions, and feedback between the guides and clients clear and simple if any additional communication was necessary during the descents. For a first time heli ski client, I would describe CPG as extremely approachable. The day was certainly thrilling, but at no point was I frightened, worried, or concerned.

The entire process was extremely professional and easy to navigate. CPG was easy to contact on both email and phone, and they were able to quickly and effectively address all of our various questions and concerns. Transportation between the hotel meeting point, the staging area, and the zone we were were skiing was smooth. The lunch provided was excellent. I didn’t put a lot of thought into what to expect, but the gourmet meal on a beautiful Alaska glacier was certainly on another level from the PB&J and granola bar I usually throw in the backpack.

At one point, I became concerned that the CPG experience would literally ruin skiing through other means. George reassured us that skiing inbounds and touring is still fun. I hope you are right, and we hope to see you again when we come back for more after Steve learns how to ski.

In my best Naughty By Nature impression - “You down with CPG - Yeah you know me!” I would give CPG (Chugach Powder Guides) ten stars if I could to thank them for an amazing trip and excellent memories to last a lifetime.

Mere text falls far short of describing the amazing backcountry riding/skiing experience that CPG provides in AK’s Chugach mountain range. From super rad and professional staff across the board (office, guides, heli pilots, cat drivers - everyone!) to great gear and food, to a solid backcountry mountain adventure experience in AK, CPG delivers and then some!

My friend and I flew one-and-a-half heli days (the heli rides/views are amazing let alone the awesome riding) and rode two snowcat days with CPG (super fun experience and terrain, also). The conditions were amazing and we could not stop smiling when bouncing down fun mountain lines in deep pow with guides and new snow-junkie friends over and over again!

Sadly I am now suffering from acute, post-adventure withdrawal and will definitely schedule a future CPG adventure to get another solid dose of backcountry riding fun In the Chugach mounting range back into my system. Definitely check out CPG and schedule your next riding/skiing experience with them. I guarantee you will be so happy that you did! Many thanks, CPG - you rock!

Great team and well run business. Got skunked from heli due to epic snow, but resort skiing was best all year. I was refunded without hassle and they will see me next year.
