NO VISITORS CENTER, NO GIFT SHOPPES, or even a paved entry, await customers at this work-a-day supplier of high-end meats to Michelin-starred eateries. The office that handles a trickle of retail buyers from the internet is hard to find but a wandering hen seemed to signal us on. As we picked up our purchases, we read rows of dusty wall-hung testimonies from Paul Bocuse and other bright-lights restaurant operators to the the sterling quality of Hudson Valley’s duck foie gras. We found later that we agreed with their assessments. While there, we easily smelled the fowl presence but saw no ducks at the complex that employs hundreds of people, who were no where in sight. It was hard to imagine the place Disneyfied. Still, recall that wineries in Napa and Sonoma were once obscure too but are now foodie destinations that sell souvenirs and experiences.

Delicious food; ordered online picked up in person. Not really set up as a retail outlet, but picking up worked very smoothly- just look for the door labeled 'main office' up the covered stairway from the main parking area, and call from there for them to bring it out.

Their products are excellent. I wish they sold their duck fat in smaller then 5 lb containers. I have toured tge farm twice and both times the birds ran towards the feeders and feeding time. Its over before you know it. Their animals are treated much better then other pig or chicken farms i have visited.

Ive always purchased my animal products from non factory farms. I have been very impressed with the running of hteir operation and the duck products Ive received have been wonderful. If they could fatten the ducks up with smaller tubes, Id be happier, but I appreciate the thought they put into it all. And they are alwasy wonderful with ordering and offering me samples of other things I normally might not have purchased or tried. Ty so much Hudson Valley !

I’ve purchased Hudson Valley products several times and always enjoyed them, which is why I’m still giving them two stars now. They make a fine product. My problem is with their promotions. I received an email offering free shipping, in celebration of Mother’s Day, on ALL orders. But when I tried to place an order on their website totaling $50, I was unable to because it required a $60 minimum. Figuring that there must be some error, I called customer service. Apparently, even though there was no mention whatsoever of this in the email, they did intend all orders over $60. When I pointed out that was NOT what the email said, I was told they’d run this promotion before and no one had ever questioned it, which I found very surprising. And when I asked that they honor their free shipping promotion on my order, I was told it was impossible to override the website, and the shipping would cost them money. They did say they’d be sure to fix this wording in future promotions and thanked me for pointing it out, and they lost my custom in the process.

We have been buying foie Gras from here for several years until the ban in California. The one good thing in 2020 was the ban being lifted !! Amen . We get our duck products over night still frozen . We have ordered many delights from here.
Best foie gras .
People that don’t eat animals need to get over it. Your comments aren’t necessary.

Amazing products, really cool history and clear that they care deeply about both their animals and their customers. I use all sorts of their products regularly - favorites are the rillettes, confit legs and duck prosciutto. Not a tourist farm, this is a working farm!
