Best place for healthy, organic, and vegetarian/vegan products in my neighborhood and beyond (I have friends who travel all the way here from NJ to shop) - be it groceries, snacks, cleaning products, supplements, skin care, wellness needs, or even just a quick lunch from their delicious hot bar or deli or sandwich and juice bar - this shop can satisfy most of your everyday needs. I also love their ethically sources selection of chocolates. The apothecary section of supplements, hair and skin care, homeopathic remedies and essential oils is separate from the rest of the store, so one must leave one's shopping cart or basket outside this area, and pay for purchases at their particular cashier. One can join their loyalty program, and get $10 off the bill when enough points have been accumulated. The store is kept clean, it naturally smells fragrant, and everyone working their is super nice and helpful.

I like Matter of Health and give it high grades, but it is super expensive. I paid $50 for 1 Turkey on whole wheat, small chicken noodle, large vegetable soup and Salmon love roll. And their reward program is for the birds. You need to spend like $1,000 for $10. But if you have the scratch it's good food.

I just wanted to give a huge shoutout to Diana, the cashier who went above and beyond during my visit on a busy Sunday. Even with the store packed and the line starting to build up, she jumped between two registers to keep things moving quickly and smoothly. She stayed calm, professional, and friendly the entire time, making sure everyone was taken care of without missing a beat. Her hustle and dedication didn’t go unnoticed she really made a difference in the shopping experience. Thanks, Diana!

I had the most incredible experience at A Matter of Health in Nanuet, NY, during a snowstorm. I arrived a bit late in the evening, before their official closing time, and picked up some prepared food. As I sat down to enjoy my meal, I didn’t realize the manager had kept the store open just for me.

By the time I finished, I noticed everyone else, including the employees, had already left. Despite being the only customer in the store, the manager didn’t say a word to rush me or make me feel unwelcome. It was clear they went out of their way to ensure I could eat in peace, and this kind of thoughtful, above-and-beyond customer service is rare these days.

Beyond this exceptional kindness, the store itself is amazing. They consistently offer the finest, freshest, and highest-quality ingredients. Whether it’s their prepared foods or the grocery items on the shelves, everything reflects care and excellence.

If you’re looking for a store that combines incredible products with unmatched hospitality, A Matter of Health is it. This experience truly showed me what it means to treat customers with respect and care. Highly recommended!

Bought a gluten free pizza. Got home and it was full of mold. Waste of money and time for that to happen.

I am writing this review today because I purchased a fresh juice on a Sunday and the girl who made the juice is not the usual juice lady and she was so nice and pleasant. The reason for my 2 star is because the usual juice lady that works the juice counter during weekdays is HORRIBLE and wasn’t there today so I witnessed an employee who actually was nice and made the juice correctly. The usual juice lady is nasty, obnoxious and cheats me out of the ingredients that make up the juice I pay for. Whenever I buy a green juice, she puts so much carrot juice in it that I don’t get what I paid for. At $15 for a large juice, that is UNACCEPTABLE. She claims she needs to put carrot to wash the machine through but I don’t care, I did not purchase juice with mostly carrot. I don’t know how she has a job. This 2 star is so that the owner of this store knows that one of his employees is terrible. The weekday juice maker is the terrible employee.

The name says it all. Fresh organic fruits & vegetables and homeopathic remedies are at home here. The prices are a bit higher than the average market, but not ridiculously overpriced.
