If you’re ever passing through Painted Post or the Gang Mills area of New York, Jellybeans Family Restaurant is a cozy local gem that delivers the kind of classic, no-frills comfort food that warms the soul. I stopped in for a hearty breakfast and left thoroughly satisfied—and full!

I ordered the corned beef hash with over-easy eggs, and it hit all the right notes. The corned beef was nicely crisped on the outside, loaded with diced potatoes, and had that nostalgic, savory flavor you hope for in a good diner-style hash. The eggs were perfectly cooked, with silky yolks that ran beautifully over the hash and potatoes—truly a comforting, stick-to-your-ribs kind of plate.

My second dish was the Spanish omelette, served with a zesty tomato-based salsa on top. The omelette was fluffy and well-cooked, and the salsa added just the right amount of kick without overpowering the eggs. It came with a generous portion of home fries that were golden and crispy in parts, soft and seasoned in others—exactly how diner potatoes should be.

Jellybeans has that welcoming, old-school vibe with friendly service and prices that don’t break the bank. It’s not fancy, but it’s dependable, filling, and satisfying. Definitely worth a stop if you’re craving a solid breakfast or lunch.

What a delicious breakfast! I had the frittata and my wife has the greek omelet, both are worth ordering again. My only regret is not snapping more photos to share. Support your local businesses and dine here!

The place was small but had awesome service and friendly people. We went for breakfast. We were a large group and they accommodated us very quickly. The food was just ok. Simple. But we were happy with what we ordered.

Cute place. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all day. Basic classic dishes made right. Care goes into preparing the food. Service was very good. The atmosphere is ok, but just a tick or two off from when it was new. The BLT wasn’t greasy. It was just right. Worth coming by for all the comfort foods!

First time here, ordered the pork chops with mashed potatoes with gravy and garlic bread. Chops were juicy but lacked flavor even with the Apple Glaze? Mashed potatoes were good with some small lumps as I liked. The Garlic Bread no comment, sub roll with butter I guess, did not taste any garlic. Good meal for the price. Would definitely like to try their breakfast as it may be a better experience.

The cutest little restaurant ever. Very retro and homely feel, classic American comfort diner. Can’t beat it. We went on Mother’s Day in the late morning, which is understandably one of their busiest times. A little bit of a wait to seat 3 but not bad at all, maybe 10 minutes. Only caveat was there isn’t really a place to sit and wait, they just have you stand in the doorway, but that’s okay. Our server was very sweet and attentive, and the food was good. Home fries were more akin to potato rounds, but you can get them cubed. I asked for them extra crispy and there were maybe 4 of them that had any sort of crisp to them, but like I said, it was very busy so I completely understand and they were still really good. Pancakes were huge, I couldn’t even finish them. One was a little more well done than the other but very good overall. A little more on the pricey side, it was $60 before tip to feed the three of us, but it was worth it. An excellent little diner to stop in, especially for a Mother’s Day brunch.
