Pindar Vineyards in Peconic, NY, is a gem in the heart of the North Fork, radiating some of the best vibes in the region. As soon as you arrive, you're greeted by the sprawling vineyards that set the stage for a memorable experience. The tasting room is spacious and inviting, with a laid-back, unpretentious atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease.

The staff at Pindar are not just knowledgeable about wine, they’re passionate about it, and their enthusiasm is infectious. Whether you’re a seasoned wine lover or a curious beginner, they make you feel welcome and guide you through their extensive selection with genuine warmth.

The wines themselves are a delightful journey through the flavors of Long Island. Their signature Dr. Dan’s Merlot is a standout, rich and smooth with just the right amount of tannins. The Sunflower Chardonnay is another must-try, offering a bright, crisp taste that perfectly complements a sunny day at the vineyard.

What sets Pindar apart, though, is the overall vibe. The outdoor seating area is perfect for sipping a glass of wine while taking in the beautiful views of the vineyard. Great atmosphere, great staff, great views. Came here with family and friends, we had a good time. Live band playing while we took some wine sips. They have indoor and outdoors where you can sit and relax with your family. The sunset around this part of town is spectacular! Perfect for those that love pictures.

I booked the Sparkling Room a few weeks in advance for my sister’s bachelorette. If you book this room, make sure to call the day before otherwise it is likely they will forget about you. We walked in for an 11am reservation for 10 people, where we prepaid for the tasting, and we were told there is no reservation. After seeing that I was visibly annoyed and mentioned I had provided a deposit, they went looking and found the reservation. The room was not set up and was freezing (as there was no heat put on given they forgot about us). I do not recommend for large groups.

I highly recommend visiting Pindar Vineyards for a tour and/or tasting! And I write very few reviews so when I do, it’s because I was blown away by the experience 😉. Our group of six was interested in a tour to learn about the wines and winemaking process, in addition to tasting the wines. After contacting at least 10 wineries on the North Fork and striking out with each one, I was told that Pindar is one of the few that offers tours. And they were the only winery able to accommodate us on short notice (24 hrs) - which was especially gracious since they’re in the middle of harvest season!

Nancy took my call and was happy to schedule a tour for the following day, followed by a tasting. She could not have been nicer! Meeting Nancy in person and learning from her about Pindar’s operation and their wines was an extraordinary experience!! She is super knowledgeable, friendly, and the most gracious host. We learned ALOT during our tour. And she does a great tasting experience, as well. She is a super lady!!

I can’t say enough about how welcome Nancy and everyone else at Pindar made us feel. And the wines are really wonderful as well. Whether you prefer reds, whites or sparkling wines, there is something special for you at Pindar. We finished our visit by sharing a bottle on their lovely outdoor deck while watching the sun set.

If you ever have the opportunity to visit this amazing place, I believe you will be very happy you did! It’s really something special.

It’s a nice vineyard, decent wines but they taste more like Canadian reds, lack complexity. Even the full bodied reds are not rounded. But the atmosphere is good, staff is friendly, makes a nice little outing.

Visited here with my boyfriend and some cousins/friends and I must say this was a great experience.
The live music was a very nice touch. What's great is that you can bring your own food also.
The wine tasting was amazing. I loved the sangria!
The big chair is great for photo ops also!

This was our 2nd stop on our two day winery tour. Indoor space was huge with an amazing wine selection. They were kind enough to let us try two wines before we purchased our bottle. Lots of outdoor space as well, with a covered porch. Looks like they have some great bands on the weekend as well.

Have been here several times before and it just gets better each time. I did a wine tour and tasting this past Saturday with my cousin and let me just say that Nancy is the GOAT of LI wine country. She gave us a great tour and was super knowledgeable. If you do the champagne tour try to get her as the guide!
