I recently ordered 20 yards of compost @$76/yard plus $550 delivery fee. I paid close to $2300 for the "best" "compost" in new york state. What I received was full of plastic, I mean a lot of plastic. Did I mention glass? What about the stick that are 10" long and 1" in diameter. I own a landscaping company and am familiar will most suppliers in Upstate, NY. Last time I bought from this company was 6-7 years ago and the product was fantastic. I figured I was getting the same stuff as before. Completely wrong! I think they they started taking on volume and with that they lost integrity and drop the quality of product significantly. I basically paid more that double the price to effectively contaminate the beds inside of my brand new hoop house. VERY VERY UPSET. I mean who wants glass, plastic and large sticks in their "compost" especially when you paid a premium for the "best". I highly recommend going to Hudson Valley Organics are a much better, cleaner, and far more reasonably priced company.

I could have gone down to the port of Albany and paid $30/yard and at least not have had any sticks, glass or plastic in my product.

If you like paying more than double than anywhere else while simultaneously contaminating your garden that you worked extremely hard on then McEnroe "Organic" Farm is for you.

I suppose plastic and glass are certified organic?

Whoever is in charge of the compost at this facility needs to make this right. I expect prompt action to be taken to right the wrongs made here.

I ordered 20 yards of the garden blend soil which cost me $2051 with delivery. The ordering and delivery was great but the product was horrible as you can see in the pictures. I filled up multiple garden beds and I kept pulling out vegetable stickers, plastic, nails, glass and even a few rusty wires. It also seems that a decent percentage of this soil is comprised of fine stones. You do not see the stones initially but after a month or so the rain will bring them to the top. I did get a cut by the wire while gardening with bare hands the other day but luckily I had my tetanus shot not too long ago. I have then ordered 20 yards of garden soil from Custom Compost Inc and it was much better; I paid about 850 dollars with delivery. In my two decades of gardening I have had garden soil delivered 4 times and McEnroe’s product was by far the worst. Take a look at the pictures and tell me whether you can grow seedlings in this many stones. One picture also shows all the trash that I pull out non stop; I actually now have a small trash bag with me any time that I garden just to pull out the random plastic. When I spoke to them on the phone prior to ordering I specifically asked whether they sort out trash and they assured me they have a machine that will pick out fruit stickers and various other plastics. I very very rarely leave negative reviews here on google, this might be my second one ever.

While I miss the market and cider garden, I'm pleasantly surprised by how amazing the online ordering is for veggies, meats, and soil. The vegetables are even fresher than they were at the market, (which is saying something) and it's easier and saves me time to just order what I need online--highly recommend for the best organic produce and meats around!

Make the mistake of driving an hour to get a pickup load of "compost". They advertise soil suitable for raised beds so I asked if I could also see that. "No". () Just rude, uninterested response from the attendant.

Ended up with a truck load of material that was still steaming hot. Unable to use it around vegetables I dumped it in a pile for next season.

Unfortunately when a family member was finally able to add it to 7 raised beds this stuff was loaded with tiny stones. Organic stones?!? Hardly what I was expecting. All but impossible to screen out all this crap from the beds.

Would not consider ever using this facility again.

McEnroe Farms hired us to tranport product from Idaho to New York in July of 2022. We have still not received Payment from this company. We have talked to them mutiple times and have gotten nothing but empty promises. Our company has been in buisness for 50 years and have never been treated this way. We provided a service like we were asked and this is how they treat us. I would recommend NOT using this company for any of your aggricultural needs. The only reason they are getting a 1 star is because google will not post it with a 0 Star.

my garden has never been getting since i started using Mcenroe garden blend soil.its a mix of top soil, food wast and compost.
keep up the good work!
