The best place in the neighborhood to get Asian and Caribbean speciality items as well as the freshest seafood and produce. Family owned and I get the neighborhood tea with the aunties every time. Sue is a sweetheart and always makes me feel welcome.

I love this place. Great selection of fruits and veggies and seafood, as well as Asian grocery products that are way overpriced at chain grocery stores. The staff is very helpful and will take you exactly to the product you are in search of. It’s small, but it’s never overwhelming and is well organized. Great variety of spices, flowers & plants outside, stamps behind the counter, all at reasonable prices. They’ve got it all:-)

Physical confrontation, racism. Would not support or recommend.

Stumbled upon this store and stopped to admire their selection of flowers. I had just bought a bouquet from a market down the street and was looking for another batch to compliment them. After ultimately deciding to circle back at the end of the day, my boyfriend and I walked off.

We got about half a block away before an employee of the store physically assaulted me. She tried to grab the bouquet that I'd purchased from the first market, and when she couldn't she grabbed me and tried to drag me back to the store.

My boyfriend and I had no idea who this woman was or why she was attacking me.

When she finally explained that she thought we stole the flowers, we repeatedly showed her the receipt from the other market. She insisted we stole them because someone else at the store "saw it on the camera." We tried to explain that there was a mistake and a misunderstanding. She continued to yell and accuse us of stealing, causing a scene on the busy sidewalk.

She insisted we walk back to Ralph Ave Fresh Farm with her to review the footage. But mind you – this woman had just assaulted me. We weren't going anywhere with her, especially since we had done nothing wrong.

A misunderstanding like that is honestly understandable. I'm sure they are very busy with foot traffic and might have seen me walk away with my flowers from the first store in hand, and gotten confused. Totally plausible. But you should double check. And you should use your words. I would have preferred she even shouted to get our attention than sneak up and attack us.

It's ridiculous and hard to believe that we weren't assumed guilty and undeserving of personal space and respect because we were young Black people. I got most of this encounter on camera.

I was looking forward to supporting this neighborhood business. Needless to say, I won't ever.
