The Food Was Absolutely Delicious. My Only Complaint Would Be The String Beans Being Sweet, But That Was An Easy Fix. I Took My Food Home, Seasoned Those String Beans, Added Some Butter & Sautéed Onions. Bul I Tore That Food Up. There Were Some Items On The Menu That They Ran Out Of I Guess I’ll Try Those Next Time I Visit Brooklyn.

I’ve heard about this place since the summer and wanted to try it since I was in the area. To begin upon entry, your representative, taking my order, was willing to answer all of the questions that I had about their menu items. When I ordered my food, I was also able to get a sample plate which was very helpful in terms of knowing what I would like for my future orders. This day I ordered the catfish, the oxtails, rice and the macaroni & cheese. The rice was not my favorite, but the macaroni and cheese and oxtails were delicious. I can say that some of the menu items were not in stock that I wanted to try but they were delightful in offering other options that were available at the time. I would definitely try again and recommend others to try as well. They do not have a dining area but they make big orders for catering in which you can try smaller samples before bigger orders.

10/10 recommend when we first got there it was packed because there were customers still waiting for their food. Other than that a few mins later he took our order and even gave us a sample of food to try the sample that he gave me was mashed potatoes and oxtails soo good!! For my main meal i got sweet heat wings w/ macaroni and yams .. Go try this y’all !!

First time customer, the food was really good, the cat fish and grits are amazing, fried chicken could have been fried harder and the fried whitey fish needed more seasoning but everything else was good, yams, Mac n cheese, potato salad, greens was on the money. Food took 30 min to get, and they gave out samples that's good as well. Overall, it's a good spot to eat. The cashier was great as well .

I ate here today for the first time and I was pleased overall. I be so skeptical about trying new soul food restaurants because I’ve had not so good or very subpar soul food in the past. I had the catfish dinner with mac and cheese and yams. I think I would’ve liked the whiting fish better and will try it next time. The catfish wasn’t bad though. The mac and cheese was delicious! I was so surprised by how good it was. The yams were also delicious and wasn’t overly sweet. I had an extra side of macaroni salad since they didn’t have potato salad. I didn’t care for the macaroni salad. It had a lot of the relish flavor in my opinion. I would’ve liked if it was some finely diced onion and maybe some bell peppers in it to give it a pop of flavor. I ordered a side of wings with the sweet heat sauce. The wings were a very nice size and the sauce was delicious. It was like a hot sauce with honey. I would’ve liked if the wings were fried a bit harder. I will make sure to request the wings being fried hard next time. I had banana pudding which was okay. The color wasn’t the usual pale yellow and it wasn’t as thick as I would’ve liked it to be. I did like that it had a lot of cookies and a little bit of bananas. Service was A1. I really appreciate good customer service.
I will definitely return again for the mac and cheese, yams, and wings and to try some of the other items.

I had catfish, and I had oxtail with Mc and cheese. The oxtail was OK too much gravy on top of the Mc and cheese it takes away from the Mc and cheese for me. The catfish was well seasoned. The catfish was good, and their candles' yams are good, and if it's your first time there, they will give you a free sample to taste. It can be a sit-down spot, but it's a grab and go

First time at this restaurant. The service was phenomenal. The place was clean and organized. The staff were very friendly. The food was amazingly delicious. It takes a while for order to come. It was worth the wait.

Everyone here is so friendly & welcoming and the food is outstanding. I came on a Sunday for catfish and grits and also ordered the cornbread because it was mentioned as a special menu item and both were fantastic, especially the sweet butter thats put on top of the cornbread. 10/10, and I can’t wait to try the other things on the menu.
