Little known trick of the trade in the restaurant industry is to befriend a fisherman, and below is why. Prawns!!!! In the US!!! In Buffalo!!! I felt like I struck gold when I came across Pacific Cloud Seafood at Bidwell market. I have bought a couple of things from them since and each has been amazing. Their mission is so important and I feel exceptionally lucky to have their business here in Buffalo. Here’s to having more reasons to make Paella, thank you guys!

This place is very different than a typical fish market. You will notice right away, that there is no assortment of fish laying on a bed of ice. What you do see is a kitchen area, that is being used for prepping the different types of seafood at the time. The seafood is fresh and then vacuumed pack. The owner actually does some of the fishing in Alaska. I think if they can utilize the kitchen more, they could get a lot of business by doing fish dinners.

Salmon burgers- enjoyed how it was full of meat and not fillers. Also season very well. (Caution may have few bones)

Pacific Cloud’s Salmon, Black Cod, Scallops, King Crab, Halibut and Halibut Cheeks (fisherman’s choice) are the finest you will find locally in western NY. We are lucky to have a small business that is in constant contact with Alaskan and East coast suppliers who know the difference between quality sourcing methods vs factory processed seafoods. Thankful to have this gem in Buffalo. Keep up the good work.

Amazing seafood! Huge selection of Alaskan and New England fresh caught fish, scallops and crab. So nice to buy from a fisherman who knows his product, is locally available and has a amazing selection.

We enjoy Pacific Cloud Seafoods’ tasty fillets and canned fish. Actually, the tins of trout with dill and smoked salmon were a revelation. They were so delicious they put all other brands of canned fish to shame. My husband also liked their salmon roe. The owner, Ryan Horwath, is very knowledgeable (and so is Geoff). He was very informative about fish, fishing and recipes. I don’t care for Sockeye Salmon. But, upon Ryan’s recommendation I tried one of their fillets. Well, I now like Sockeye and will only purchase it from Pacific Cloud Seafoods. My favorites are their cods. On a side note, I appreciate that Ryan supports sustainable fisheries. That aligns with my concerns.
Order their fish online or visit their shop on Chandler Street, or any of the farmers markets they participate in.

We discovered Pacific Cloud Seafood at the Bidwell Farmer's Market and bought some cod from them. The owner, Ryan was so helpful in directing us and recommending ways to prepare the fish and it was incredible. We also checked out their location on Chandler Street and tried their salmon and blackened seasoning, which were outstanding as well. Ryan is extremely knowledgable and clearly takes much pride in the quality of his product. Looking forward to trying more from them.

Stumbled upon this hidden Gem only a day ago! They have all kinds of seafood and even offer a catch sharing subscription (call ahead to check what the current stock, the fish moves quickly).

I just cooked the salmon and it was hands down the best salmon I have ever tasted in the Buffalo area even among filets I have ordered at top restaurants.

The filet was so fresh tasting for a cut of salmon - it didnt have any “fishy” flavor at all and instead it tasted fresh, juicy, and had a perfectly flakey texture. This is exactly what I expected based on the vibrant color of the meat - a sign the meat is not mass produced or farmed.

The owner was at the shop when I stopped by and was very happy to educate me all about the fish he sells, where it comes from, how it is handled, and most importantly why it is sustainable and ethical. He has a stake in doing things the right way.

I fully trust that his products are of the finest quality one can buy. After hearing about what is in other fish you might find at the grocery store or market I also feel this fish is the safest to eat. Food safety and purity are very important to me since I fed a small portion of this fish to a 2yr old which I felt more than comfortable doing.

We will be back for more as often as possible!

This business is on the cusp of great success. You can still meet the owner, talk about plans for the business, and watch the business grow. The company has been in business here (I think) about 2.5 years and they say that every startup takes 3 years before it hits takeoff. Try everything! The canned fish was a revelation. The sockeye salmon -- my wife told the owner that she does not like sockeye so he gave us a fillet as a challenge and he won! She liked it.

The location is a building full of culinary startups in an odd location -- well worth the trip!
