Visiting August Hill Wine was an amazing experience! This place offers the perfect combination of great wine and live music, creating a fantastic atmosphere for relaxation and enjoyment.

You can purchase your wine and sip it while listening to the live band, making for a delightful evening. Bringing your own chairs to sit on the hill is a great idea to enhance your comfort. However, since we were from out of town and didn’t know we needed chairs, the incredibly friendly staff kindly let us borrow some. They also took the time to explain the available wines in detail, making our selection process enjoyable and informative.

The variety of wine options is impressive, with something for every palate. I particularly enjoyed trying the wine flights, which allowed me to taste any four wines available. During the summer, I highly recommend trying their frozen wine—it’s a refreshing treat! Overall, August Hill Wine on the Hill is a must-visit for wine lovers. I can’t wait to return!

Today we went to the winery. It was amazing. I forget our guide name but she was great. She has worked there for 11 years and was very knowledgeable about the winery. She was full of energy and really delivered the history of August Hill. We are sweet wine drinkers and they have a few that we really enjoyed. I would recommend the caramel Apple wine if you enjoy sweet. We purchased 3 bottles before leaving.

So if you are looking for a tasting experience, I would recommend the tasting room in North Utica. They have plenty of room to accommodate any size group or company. This facility has a Cave tasting which we specifically came here for. Takes about an hour, you get a history lesson, excellent sampling of their products and souvenir glasses. The temperature inside the cave is like any other cave experience so those temperature challenged may want to bring a sweater. They also had live entertainment (bring your own chairs) and a food truck (delicious).
