We had not been by Farmers in a few years and decided to stop in today for some sod. Their staff has always been friendly and helpful but the service we had today especially from Austin who was truly exceptional. They have a wonderful variety of healthy native plants as well as any veggies or trees you might need or want. This will be our regular nursery moving forward. So glad they are in Leander to give us more options from the box stores.

Incredibly knowledgeable and friendly staff, they stayed with us for as long as it took to answer all our questions and showed us a huge variety of plants without ever trying to upsell us. When we were done, they gave us a liner for our car, helped us load up all our plants, and gave us a guide for best planting methods, all for free. Typical response about trying to put the blame on the customer. "installation practices, watering schedules". Worse than the product was the customer care or lack of it. If they really cared for their customer and stood by their product and service, they they would listen to the customer and not immediately assume that the customer did things wrong and are to blame. This is just my honest review and the facts in this case. Readers can choose to ignore in favor of the other reviews or take notice and beware. The seller will almost always deny and give excuses. - Not a good experience purchasing grass from Farmers Nursery. The Palisades Zoysia I received looked brown and unhealthy, but they told me that it was normal and soon after installing it and keeping it moist, it would green up. I installed it around mid March and the weather was averaging 70s and some rain every few days. After a few weeks of not seeing much improvement, I called Farmers Nursery to express my concern. The lady asked me if I was keeping it moist, and after I said that I was watering it every day, she made it sound like that was the problem and to cut down on watering? They didn't want to send someone over to check and did not want to compensate me in any way. I was told they could not do anything about it. I ended up removing the grass which I paid about $1,000 and replaced it with the same type from another vendor (The Grass Patch) which looked a lot better when I purchased it and looks much much better only a few weeks after. I'm very disappointed and unhappy with Farmers Nursery. I would not recommend their grass or service.
