Nice place to walk they have small short trails. Only thing is during the cold weather. They do not have any porter potties or bathroom so make sure you go bathroom before heading here. They do have bike trails, which look really nice. I walked the majority and I finished all the trails, you might get a chance to see an Instagram /OF model in her bikini doing a photo shoot in the cold like I did lol. I did not take pictures because it was too far and it would be creepy.

I've loved the nature center since I was a little girl! They've updated the place, but it's still a great little museum to come learn about nature and see it up close. Makes me wish I had a kid to bring along!

A nice place for a day trip if you live in Chi. We did a winter hike. The snow shoe rental was 5$ and well worth it. It was super cold but we had a lot of fun.

The North Aurora River front park is close-by and it is really gorgeous as well. We visited that on our way back.

Great for kids due to short nature trails. You can walk up to the river or gaze from an observation deck. Cute but very small cave on one of the paths.

A super cool place on the Fox River, with trails and a cave. They also have live turtles and snakes in their nature center. After the nature center, you could walk up and down the Fox River Trail. There are a lot of cool things to see with views of the river.

I normally enjoy a more challenging hike or wander around a park, yet this place is a nice change of pace and has a handful of dirt paths off the normal trail (not to be confused with the shortcut parts near trails due to lazy people). A larger friend of mine accompanied me and kept pace as there isn’t much of elevation changes or obstructions to traverse over. A lot of other families and folks were out walking and biking on the concrete path that goes through the area.

There are a few hills for a leg burner, the view along the water is super neat, and despite the bare trees and bushes, the nature is still beautiful. Spring and summertime must be lovely here! Weekdays are less busy, especially during the cooler months.

The nature center was closed during my visit, so I’m unsure what services are offered. The grounds has lot of communal spaces, like a shaded picnic area with grills; other areas gives the impression for educational purposes as well as private events like small weddings and parties.
