First time going there tonight. There was a homeless man blocking off the carts, asking people going in if they wanted one, giving them one if desired, then asking for money. I did not feel comfortable taking a cart from someone who clearly wasn't an employee, so I decided on a basket.

Turns out I needn't have bothered with even that much. The prices for what cuts of meat they did have were reasonable, but I was looking for chuck roast and whole pork loin, and they didn't have anything like what I wanted. The chicken drumsticks were well priced, but they were so small that I would've been buying a ton of little ones if I'd wanted them. Ground beef wasn't available in a size under 2.5lbs, which is a weird amount for me to portion and freeze when I'm shopping on a budget and can only afford a little bit of something. And finally, the entire meat locker smelled like chicken that had gone bad.

Overall, I went here only because Howard and Sons in Munster, IN was closed, and this place was open later. But the security was sorely lacking, the selection wasn't anything like what I was looking for nor was it in portions that I wanted, and the whole place smelled like meat that went bad. Will not be back, do not recommend.

I purchased two lobster tails, and as soon as I got home, I noticed a foul smell and went to return them. Also, I purchased two steaks as shown in the picture. After cooking them, I took a bite it had a bad taste, so I called the store, talked to a manager, and was told they couldn't do anything since I had cooked the steak. No store credit, nothing! Obviously, it was my mistake. I should have known if the lobster tails were bad, so was the steak. Won't be going back any time soon.

When I first started shopping here maybe a year ago the meat was good. I have not shopped here in a while because due to the commute. I purchased 3 packs of turkey thighs from here. All 3 packs had a foul odor, smelling fishy, before and after cooking. I was really excited for the turkey thighs because it is hard to find unfortunately this was bad meat.

I shop here all the time great meat great prices love the service ( always ask for the meat manager he’s the guy with glasses, lip piercing) he even shares recipes. Great cashiers always friendly!!!!!
The only negative I have to say is the way employees get treated I was there on several occasions and a polish old man was telling an employee he was worth less than the bottom of his shoes and recently I was there by the milk and heard when someone was screaming that they were a bunch of idiots and just cursing bad at them. sad that hard working employees get treated that way.

They fold they chicken wings so that u can’t see how bad they are on the other side, Brought 5 packs of family wings at 13-14$ a pack and all but maybe 6 wings were good i had to refund the man money for his catering order because i was not gonna give him chicken wings that looked like that! Beware peoples before you buy anything most of the stuff they have marked down be old as hell check all food because they won’t refund you or give you better product! The health department needs to be called out asap !

When this shop first opened it was awesome, but how things change and it's sad. I've gotten meat on 2 occasions where is was spoiled. First time it happened I said OK maybe it just a one off thing gave this place a break for a few months went back this weekend saw that they are now packaging their meat. Brought 200 dollars worth of meat to come. Next day I decided to cook my tacos I had taco meat and ground beef why was all 3 packs spoiled 🙃 Now I'm scared that all of my meat maybe spoiled. I wasted 200 dollars of my hard earned money on meat that I maynot be able to consume. Please shop here with caution. I won't be back and it's sad that they keep selling spoiled food.

They literally need to change the name; it's no longer a butcher shop. They have been going downhill for quite some time now; it's nothing but a grocery store now. All of the meats are in bags. Don't waste your time going; you'll be disappointed.
