It was fun. Really a nice train ride for young kids who will get a blast of hearing the whistle blow before the engine starts pulling/pushing its cars. For $19 per adult, it's well worth the price. Great scenery and the conductor providing the history of Cripple Creek and its mines, businesses, and past citizens are great.

Cute historic and short tour on a narrow gauge train... The Engineer was young and enthusiastic and informative, but you could tell he's done this too many times! The seats are not comfortable for someone with back issues (me). Dogs are welcome, but the noise and the smoke and the rough floor had our 85 lb pitty mix terrified - please don't take the dog...
Lots of coal smoke to breathe, so be aware of that.
Even having said all that, it was a fun, family friendly and touristy thing to do!

Road the Railroad in cripple creek for the first time! It was a pleasant experience. Definitely recommend for toddlers who love trains as the trip is short enough to keep their attention and also not very serious. It took about 50-60 minutes round trip and the conductor stopped along the way to share some history of the town! If it’s cold I may of reconsidered as the cars are open to the elements and could be cold.

Brought my kids on the narrow gauge railroad train yesterday and it was SO much fun! Our engineer Robert was great and had so much information about cripple creek and all of the mines. Beautiful views to see the trees changing as well. Highly recommend, they close for the season in October so get in there soon!

Absolutely fantastic! Amazing views and great history! You may get some coal engine smoke in your face, but that is part of the realistic experience. Bring a mask if you are sensitive. Also, the passenger cars have a roof, but similar to a tram they are open on the sides. So, a jacket is a good idea in case of rain or weather changes.

Narrow gauge railroad that reminds you of toy trains. The little engine that could.
Very reasonably priced trip with extremely knowledgeable engineer narrating the trip. All the above surrounded by spectacular scenery. Best value for money of all train trips in Colorado!

Really enjoyed this with my 5yr old granddaughter! The engineer spoke on the history of the area and the scenery was beautiful! The trip was short enough that my granddaughter remained engaged and interested.
