Five Star All the way!!! We have received fish, pork, chicken, apples, oranges, and other fruits, any and all vegetables, milk, eggs, cheese, cereal, bread, frozen meals, even dog food. Of course, most of it is expired and donated from Safeway, and Walmart, but expired doesn't mean old. Just a date that the government puts on food for legal reasons. I've purchased expired food often from Walmart that was not bad or old. Plus the food kitchen is pretty amazing. I feel lucky to be an elder and allowed to receive such goodness. Thank you.

The ladies who work here are usually very efficient. The bread is usually really good. The vegetables and fruit can be a hit or miss, but you usually have a decent selection. Also they have birthday bags for kids that comes with cake mix and candles as well as a few gifts. Thanks to all the volunteers who work there!

I have both received food and volunteered here and wouldn't recommend either. The portions are inadequate especially on a monthly basis and due to the poor management being a volunteer was impossible.

Really good people, they also feed a great meal Monday-Friday. They also offer free showers and pre cut firewood, now that's a game changer!

Food is held for transients, cannary workers. Im resident,64,get 8 loaves of bread last month
A can of pears, all veggies to rotten even to juice. Sad. Needs new people to look up for us older ones, disabled and others. This place is fraudulent

Now, 8/2022...

Note my pictures. Pork, thawed and refrigerator, dated 2019!!!!! I used to volunteer here. Watched workers pack home the fresh meats, even donated beef from DIAM9ND M on K Beach. When I asked where was meat to give public, knowing they took it, I was 'not needed to help' and let go! .

They hoarded the meat I am posting pics of. Now 3 yrs old, they clean out their freezers and pass it to public.

Public NEEDS TO KNOW. The grants are not used properly. I watched the worker pass out extra cheese their friends...this was the senior box ! So, yes, the disabled and seniors are gave beyond rotten foods. Due to them hoarding!!!

Very very nice workers. They make me feel very welcome in times when I need food. The lady that works she has worked there for a long time she is a very very sweet lady. And has always been so sweet to me when I come there. I want to thank them in times of need. They even give me cat food when I needed it.

This food bank is top notch. Going to any food bank can feel like there's a stigma to it, but this food bank is different, it's professional, clean, a happy place with people that are proud to be there and proud to help everyone. Lunch is free, hot and tasty, every weekday.

I love that this program is available to alaskans. However it has been slim pickings for quite some time. I know the stores have also had shortages that may have contributed to this Limited stock at the food bank. Staff is wonderful.
