*DISCLAIMER: I am aware I went for a special event and that the restaurant is not entirely at fault for the sequence of events. I am mostly speaking about the event itself and that I came in with an attitude and am aware of it. I had this vetted to make sure I was entirely fair in this review.

February 2, 2025. I came in thirty minutes early to the lunar new year event because I love Shumai and I really wanted to have some after a really awful day.

I knew the rules: pay for a bowl, get unlimited noodles.

I opted not to, for reasons I won't disclose here. The bowls are gorgeous, by the way.

So when I see the bowls come out with food, I'm a bit excited. But it takes me a little longer to get mine, and when I get mine I'm shocked:

I am at a sit-down restaurant, being given a noodle and soup bowl in a paper bowl with plastic silverware.

Most everyone else has a bowl with silverware.

And I felt a bit humiliated. I understand I didn't buy a bowl, but to be served special noodles celebrating a holiday I was unable to celebrate with family on a paper plate just made my heart sink.

Sean really knew his stuff. Have spent time in Temple Bar and Alchemy reminds me of that time Dublin. I'm not a drinker but we all got different drinks and entrees so we could enjoy the range. Scotch eggs and colcannon were really good. Great beer selection for those who imbibe

We decided to go to Alchemy on an impulse, and it made our whole day. Strong recommendation for The Voodoo Chic and the poutine, and the French dip was top notch. If you get a drink, get The Alchemist, you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely astounding hidden gem! This place truly made us feel like we were back on our honeymoon in Ireland. Stopped off on our anniversary trip to the zoo and it was the best decision. Food was all wonderful and Sean is the best bartender around, a long with being a flawless server, host and entertainer. Truly made our visit memorable. Franklin, the pub pup, was the bow on top of the wonderful experience 🐶 Could not recommend this place more, be sure to check it out for authentic bite and a drink you won't soon forget! 🇮🇪🍻

Alchemy is one of my favourite places for a bite and a pint (or cocktail!) Inside or on the back patio, the vibe is chill, and the food is solid.

They have the best Scotch Eggs I have had in quite some time, and their take on Poutine is rib sticking and delicious. Definitely comfort food!

Mr. Sean, or Shawn, is thee most epic pubtender ever. A true rare gem of a human!!!!
Alchemy is a bad ass joint! Sean and the staff make it feel so friendly and inviting. Strangers walk, they don't walk out.

We had THE best time with Sean as our server! As a closet Swiftie The Alchemy was hit for me! The Elderberry was delish and the meat charcuterie was outstanding! Thanks for the fun atmosphere!!
