Barolo Grill is truly a culinary gem that deserves every bit of praise. From the moment you step inside, the inviting ambiance sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The owner’s passion for food and wine is evident, and their commitment to quality shines through in every dish.

The menu is a delightful journey through Italian cuisine, and I must highlight the scallops and truffle risotto — they are simply to die for! The scallops are perfectly seared, boasting a beautiful caramelized crust while remaining tender and succulent on the inside. Paired with the truffle risotto, which is rich, creamy, and infused with the earthy aroma of truffles, this dish is a match made in heaven. Each bite is a celebration of flavors and textures that leave you wanting more.

The wine selection is exceptional, with a focus on Italian varietals that beautifully complement the menu. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and happy to recommend the perfect pairing for your meal, enhancing the overall experience. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just looking to explore, you’ll find something that excites your palate.

Overall, Barolo Grill is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates exceptional food and wine. The combination of exquisite dishes, like the scallops and truffle risotto, along with the warm hospitality from the owner, creates a dining experience that is truly memorable. Don’t miss out on this culinary treasure!

My partner took me here for my birthday and overall we are in agreement that it’s extremely underwhelming. We chose to do the four course menu + basic wine tasting opting for the calamari and crudo to start. The calamari was flavorless, relying heavily on the dipping sauce to compensate, but unfortunately the sauce was not very tasty either, just an assault of lemon. The crudo was alright on its own (fish only) and the sauce was okay. A little too much vinegar, and the seed garnish was so crunchy it took away from the any of the nice flavors present. Next, we had the fungi tagliatelle and it literally tasted liked unsalted pasta water. I’m not sure any salt or pepper even made it to this dish. We couldn’t even eat it. The waiter offered a replacement dish and we opted for the gnocchi which was much better, but still just okay. We also had the risotto. I am not exaggerating when I say it tasted exactly like Kraft mac n’ cheese. At first, it’s almost nostalgic and I appreciate a dish that is reminiscent of childhood with an elevated flare, but after the second and (reluctant) third bite, it was clear that this dish lacked creativity and inspiration. Our third course was the beef tenderloin and scallops. Neither were worth writing home about, very mid in flavor and execution. We finished with the cheesecake and it was honestly the best part of the entire $400 meal. The service was great and the wine pairing saved the evening. Without it, I’m not sure we would have continued eating. I’m a server, and servers deserve to be proud of the dishes they’re selling. I cannot say that would be true of this place. At the price point, I would expect ~significantly~ more. I enjoyed my birthday dinner based on ambiance and company alone and I am thankful that I didn’t have to shell out $400 + tip for a meal of this caliber. The presentation was good, but unfortunately the flavors were lacking. Maybe we came on an off night, but my first experience here is that they really missed the mark.

$95 pre-fixe offers fantastic options, variety and most of all - Incredible flavors. I'm still thinking about the Agnolotti di zucca that was the most perfect sweet and salty blend. Our waiter was so kind about bringing us endless bread so I had plenty to soak up the incredible brown butter sauce. We had 3 people and ordered all 3 desserts. Every course was absolutely incredible and we all left full & very happy.

Barolo Grill is exceptional! After 14 years in Denver, this is the first restaurant I can confidently say is 5 stars. The atmosphere is comfortable yet elegant, and it’s located in a residential area of North Cherry Creek. On Valentine’s weekend, it was busy but still intimate.

We arrived on time, were promptly seated, and received excellent service from Melissa and the team, who kept everything flowing. I had the Fegato d'anatra, which was creamy and sweet, and my husband enjoyed the Sformato di rafano. The rosemary bread loaf was freshly baked and buttery—so good!

For the first course, I had Gnocchi with crab in a creamy sauce, while my husband had the four cheese pasta. Both were delicious! For the second, I ordered the lamb chop with butternut squash and dumplings, while my husband had the beef tenderloin, both cooked perfectly. We ended with a white chocolate basil mousse and a vanilla meringue. We were full and happy, impressed by both the food and service.

For a special occasion or to treat yourself, you cannot go wrong with this place and I highly recommend it!

5 stars for the service alone, she didn’t not miss a plate or a silverware. The 4 course meal was impressive. The apps were not our favs but the pasta and meat courses definitely made up for that! I’d definitely say give this place a try, you won’t regret the experience! 🙂

I've been to a few Michelin Star restaurants/former Michelin Star restaurants and it's always an experience. Barolo was highly recommended to me by friends (and Yelp!) as a Michelin Star restaurant that doesn't necessarily feel like one, in a good way. I think that description hits the nail on the head. My take was that it had the service and food expected of the distinction but not necessarily the atmosphere and prices associated with it. I was all for it!

First off, I need to say Melissa, our waitress, was one of the best waitresses I've ever had the pleasure of dining with. She was very personable, had great recommendations for everything, and was knowledgeable about the entire menu. If you have the pleasure to dine with Melissa as your waitress, you're in for a good time.

Now, the food. Wow. Everything we ordered was amazing. You would expect for a former Michelin Star restaurant to have top-notch food and Barolo definitely delivered. I ordered the Agnello (Colorado Lamb) and all I could say was "wow" with every bite. The meat was cooked perfectly and the beet purée and golden beets complimented the meat amazingly. On top of that, the Torta di Formaggio (cheesecake with lavender honey) was the best ending to the meal I could have asked for. It was the closest thing to a perfect cheesecake I ever tasted. Finally, the cocktails we ordered were some of the best I have ever had. I know this all sounds like I may be over exaggerating but try it out for yourselves!

I cannot wait for my next experience at Barolo Grill!
