so my car broke down in salida. i spent a small fortune trying to get it fixed ended up getting ripped off by mechanics. ran out of funds someone sent me there for food assistance and i went about 4 different times. 5 if you count this time but they were there, but closed, even though people were there so i asked if they were going to be closed all day. this women whom i encounter each time i went was just flat out rude to me again so i finally asked her her name and why she always behaves like that with me. she refused to give me her name and rudely said theyre closed and shut the door on me. i want to note she had a fat wad of cash in her hand. it was all strange to me. so i looked up the grainery ministries and found out she is the director sharon surdez. the way that she has treated me a stranger in need of help i will never go back there. i would rather starve! she should not be in that position of director or volunteer if this is how she treats others. especially that people in a hardship do not need to be treated with disrespect because they are in a bad situation

Considering they tried to proselytise me and tell me a Buddhist teacher what Buddhism means I found it a little disappointing. I'm also a minister and the lady tried to educate me on Hebrew. I've never actually gotten any food there I was just signing up it's been about 3 weeks however it look like they have a good store and they were friendly other than the proselytizing.

I am very pleased that there is a place that will accept my unused dog food after losing my 15 yr old dog. I hope someone else with an old dog will be able to use the food so I don't have to throw it out.

All the food we got. All three boxes were stale or outdated and or spoiled. While yes, it's a nice service to offer to the community, it's not nice if the food gets you sick because it's spoiled

The Grainery provides food to people in need. You need to fill out an application the first time, but it's simple. The people are kind and helpful. They are aware of other resources in town. This is a Christian organization, but you do not need to be associated with any church to receive services.

For an open shelf food pantry it is clean and well stocked combined with friendly volunteer staff.
