How do you have a food pantry next to a place that has homeless people in need of food but you only allow residents of Broomfield... Absolutely ridiculous

I haven’t been here in years and after the interaction I had with the Spanish lady that helped me I don’t know if I would ever come back. She was beyond rude and treated me like I shouldn’t be there. I checked what was needed on the website prior to coming and it said nothing was needed to prove where I lived. She asked where I lived and told her just across the street had my ID to show her and she called me a liar told me unless I could prove it she wasn’t helping me. And I tried to tell her for the day I was coming in it showed I needed nothing and she kept arguing with me and being disrespectful and when I continuously asked her to stop she got louder and ruder. I turned around and walked out to my car and got a piece of mail. When I walked back in she rolled her eyes and got annoyed when I told her I couldn’t understand her between the mask and her accent it was difficult. Finally helped me gave me this over loaded buggy and said here now you go. On to the positive every other person working there was supper nice offered a smile there was one gentleman that offered to help me get to the car. I am sad to say though most of all the things I received either went to the trash for being WAY expired or the bakery things were no good. I wish I could pick out my items as my family doesn’t eat a lot of bread and it Will unfortunately go to waste. Cases of foods we don’t eat. I have tried to donate what I could back to others and other food banks but honestly outta all I was give. Only kept a handful of it. The rest found the trash. I’m great full there are places to help but disappointed I couldn’t use what I received.

I have such mixed feelings about this food bank. They are amazing for doing what they do but at the same time, I'm a bit confused as to if this was really help. More than 50% of the food received was expired and had gone bad. This was the first time going there and was overwhelmed with the amount of food they gave my family. I filled up my trunk, entire back seat and passenger seat for a family of 5. By time I got home and got to putting it away, I had filled up 3, 13gallon trash bags and threw out 2 boxes. I felt awful for waisting so much food but the breads had mold, most of the refrigeration food had expired, all of the produce had gone bad and after checking the can expiration dates only half of the ones I picked out were still within the use by date. If I'm being honest, I'm didnt feel comfortable eating really anything we got from there or feeding it to my children due to how much stuff we received that was expired and rotten. All the meat was frozen but I have no idea if it was frozen prior to going bad and I'm scared to thaw it and test fate. I am not a wasteful woman and throwing out all this food made me feel absolutely awful.

It's such an amazing thing to have help like but was it really help?

Also my biggest complaint is the dumpster they have right outside the entrance. Oh my word. You walk in and out of the pantry having to hold your breath. It smells like the city dump!

Maybe others have had more luck than I did but I'll be looking into differently food banks going forward.

I showed up 30 min late for my appointment. I read the email wrong as 230, not 2. They still honored it, but treated my wife and i like the devils step child.

How dare you say you help people when asking about DONATED FOR FREE pet food and then turn around and charge 18.00 for a 5lb bag to the person in need. Pure and simple exploiting the poor and desperate. That is not how that works! Use to be the best place to go, it's just not at all what it use to be. 75% of the given food was rotten and the con with the pet food.

Fred was extremely pleasant over the phone. This wasn't the right place for my zip code, but they were extremely friendly and still gave me some food to get by, while waiting on my finances to get better! For just being me, more than enough food, so I shared with a friend! Thanks again to all the pleasant men who helped assist!
