I'm a grad international student . My experience at CPP is been the worst academic experience from all aspects . Their website looks like 2013 , slow , not organized, confusing, weird log in process . Same thing goes to the Wifi and the network at the school .

Financial department will give you the hardest time in your life even if you have a full scholarship. They put a hold on my account every semester asking to pay upfront for the tuition/random fees .. etc in order to register classes . Our sponsor pay them in full for 10 international students but they make it complicated for us .

International office , one of the worst & smallest offices I have ever been to . Not helpful , no one answer the phone . They haven't solved any issue. As a foreign student that's my go to if I'm facing any challenges being here .

Working at BRIC , I was a personal trainer at the gym . Thought I would enjoyed it . But from the hiring process to on boarding , to dealing with the supervisor made the job 10x complicated than it should be . And for what ? For 10-15 hours per week .

The hospitality major department , they were few good professors but the whole program is whatever & useless . No real opportunities from this program unless you do your own business and that's what they don't teach .

I regret my time at this institution

Take my daughter for a visit last weekend. She is considering this school fir her college. It is famous for its engineering program.

There are not much people during our visit. The campus is very nice and worth a visit. The student center looks pretty special. Looks like they converted it from an old horse stables and each cell becomes an office.

The location is very convenient just off 57 and 10.

* update* so I filed a complaint on the administration, specifically the ones who held the responsibility for the issues I had. I was then told my complaint would be dropped. Because they felt the matter was resolved.

Clear sign of a lack of independent reviews. I wasn't even asked about my complaint before it was resolved. I don't know how that even happens.

update 2.0 I move the stars up to two because I've been able to see what appears to be some of the good parts of the staff which do Care!!! Good on you guys at the VRC and Care Center. You are what make higher education seem like a place for everyone.

* the issues below had to be taken to such a high level a lot of the problem are still not resolved but you see movements in the right directions.

Worst experience I've had with college and this would be my fourth one. Sadly, this was the one I had the highest hope for and sadly was completely let down. The few good staff probably have to hide in meetings since it seems like the bad ones collude for the negative outcomes of students.

I'm also a tall, dark, with curly hair and a male veteran. So maybe if you are not all that you'll be treated with some humanity.

Cal poly pomona administration is the most common complaint you'll hear about if you end up here.

I would highly recommend you not waste your time as they will punish you with all they can if they feel so.

Ask any club on campus 2024 and about our new million dollar logo really helps our students.

As a veteran I'm one of the few students who educations should be free. However, only at this college have they indebted me to the school. Only at this school have I had to go back and forth with employees just to be lied to. Only at this school have I had the director of a department lie directly to me over email and to my face.

Yes, cal poly pomona is a 1 now 2 star school, zero if I could. I'd drop out but I can't since I have a family that's relying on me.

This isn't a rant but rather a grave warning, run away!

Amazing support staff. Some of the professors are great as all of you will like some of them provided you attend the class with a purpose and in non judgmental way- haha 🙃. Some management (employees) on campus are very flexible with you if you work on campus. Saw some people achieve great goals for society with their initiatives. Come here and transform through the philosophy of learning by doing. Overall good atmosphere. If you want to enhance your growth on professional and personal end, it’s a more than a good school . Advice- communicate more and talk honestly to achieve your goals. Being clear in your approach in your conversations will help you succeed and if you’re not sure what goals to make, just go talk to professors, advisors, employees, student club advisors (there are many great people assisting and supporting clubs and students transforming lives) and figure out. Dont overwhelm. 😁

The campus is very nice and open. As we walked through the green campus, we were able to witness all the rose gardens, the Japanese gardens, in addition to trees everywhere. Class sizes are moderate with the largest being around 150 students in a business lecture hall. The most popular majors are business, engineering, and aerospace engineering which is the school's specialty. Tuition is cheaper than UC schools at around $12,000, including dorms. Overall, the school is very beautiful and a ton of construction is going on right now so I expect it to be even better in the future.

My husband and I went with my daughter for orientation. She’s entering as a transfer student The orientation was informative and entertaining and at same time received lots of good info. Campus is beautiful and staff friendly and knowledgeable. Area is nice. I’m excited for my daughter to finish her education here.
Update: We’re back in Pomona and have seen more of it and the neighboring cities, visited restaurants and done some shopping at Walmart and had dinner at the Yard House in Chino Hills, a city just 5 miles up the road. Classes are now in session (started today) and there were lots of students on campus this week as they are moving into their apts and dorms. Each apartments complex is co-Ed but the individual apartments are not. I’d feel better as a parent if the apt complexes were unisex. There are student resident assistants that live in each complex and one is on duty at all times. These young ladies attend CalPoly Pomona (CPP) and are seniors. While on campus there was a group of young men on an apartment balcony talking loudly, yelling, and playing music. Sounded like a party. I would hope that when classes start (which is today) such loudness will not be allowed then or at anytime since it’s a campus apt. I did notice a sign in the lobby that states quiet time starts at 10 pm during the week. This occurred after 11 PM on a Tuesday. But what we witnessed seemed to be too much.
The apartments are nice, in good condition and clean. They have a small living room furnished with a soda and a chair, 4 bedrooms and 2 large bathrooms, with a vanity outside . Beds and mattresses, desks and a nightstand are provided . Decent size closet space for a young adult. The kitchen has a stovetop, and microwave, fridge/ freezer, and good cabinet space. Kitchen counter also doubles as a bar and bar stools are provided No oven though! And residents told me they are not allowed to have a toaster oven!
Still seems a good place for young adults to start their higher education.
