This is a student run farm that is owned by Cal Poly Pomona and operated by the Huntley College of Agriculture. It has some of the richest, fertile soils and is the largest existing farm in all of the Los Angeles area with more than 140 acres. The students are fighting to protect the land from being developed by the University. They learn and gain field experience from working on the farm that can be applied to their future career. It is a living laboratory. It must be protected.

This is an amazing farm. I am learning so much about different agronomy and plant science theories and then we get the amazing opportunity to put our studies into practice at the farm. Working at the farm and experiencing how a seed grows into a fruit is a very beautiful experience. Agriculture is so influential, every aspect of life is somehow tied into agriculture; realizing this one begins to have a great appreciation for farms and farmers. I hope Cal Poly Pomona continues to support and grow its College of Agriculture because it is such an important area of study.
