Winner Winner Chicken Dinner is an excellent option. I don’t normally order chicken when dining out, but this dish is a “Winner”. Crispy skin and moist flavorful meat. Plated with asparagus and roasted potatoes completed a very nice meal. To top it off, one of my favs, Old Rasputin on tap.

So had to come on and update my review with a 50 Grand “must have” dessert. They just added their take on “Bananas Foster” to the menu and it is really good. It is worth a visit for the dessert alone!

I love it here! The restaurant & bar itself retain a bit of rustic charm we can't help but admire, is also always kept pristinely clean and tidy. It's a very friendly environment, thus too, quite cozy and warm. I feel like I could sit at the bar and order such tasty and expertly crafted drinks all day.
All the staff are quite professional, super sweet, extra polite and very knowledgeable.. if you'd struggle to decide on a dish or drink to try, they'll happily make a suggestion to suit a wide array of tastes or specific diet.
& Speaking of dishes; the food is of impeccable quality! I find I often need to restrain myself from ordering seconds, or, more accurately, a third serving.
Don't hesitate to check it out! you won't be leaving disappointed =]

I have been going to 50 Grand since before the new owners and their fabulous remodel. I just LOVE the new look, but more importantly, the food has been improved and refined.

It will be great when ALL of El Dorado County discovers this gem amongst the Pines.

Thursday is traditional Prime Rib night. Other days, they have breaded Prime Rib chicken fried steak that is no ordinary CFS.

As an appetizer, I recommend the tiger shrimp in a creamy vodka sauce.

50 Grand has a full bar, ample parking and luxurious powder rooms. Pollock Pines has a great dinner house. It's truly a destination treasure for that special day or evening out. Prepare for a Grand experience. 💎

The prices are outrageous for what you get. There is a huge disconnect between the price and quality of food. I have had $50 dollar steaks and that is not it. Vegetables didn’t even taste good. Service was excellent! But We won’t be back.

The last time I was at this restaurant was probably 10 ago. I remember the place being tired looking, expensive, and food not that great. Since then, new owners have taken over. Here’s my summery: The place had been newly revamped/remodeled, nicely decorated and was clean and fresh feeling, so kudos there! There were two of us there dining on a Sunday around 6pm and the place was nearly empty with only one waiter/owner working the floor. The service was slow. It was 15min before we got our drinks and another 15 before we placed our orders. There were only two kinds of steaks offered on the menu. Ribeye and filet mignon, which for being a steakhouse, was a bit of a disappointment. I expect to at least see sirloin and New York offered. They only offer prime rib on Thursdays. The steak comes with potatoes and vegetables only. So if you want a salad, that’s another seven bucks extra. When our food finally arrived, aside from the 14 ounce ribeye we ordered, the rest of portions were small. The salad was a disappointment as well being very small, and hardly anything in the lettuce beside the one tomato I counted. When the food finally arrived, it was tepid and the steaks were a bit tough, too. In short, it cost us over $200 bucks (tip included) for two steaks, one glass of house wine, one coffee, two lousy salads, and two desserts. Needless to say, I did not leave there feeling like I got my money’s worth in either service or food. To be fair, I know that restaurants are up against it, especially in California where wages, services, regulations, and food cost are driving high prices. But lettuce, vegetables, and potatoes are still on the cheaper side of things, and good prompt service should be a given. I do hope 50 Grand Steakhouse will read and improve here, as I wish them success in one of the most difficult business to thrive in here in California.

-- Easy find direct off Hwy 50 on surface road, plenty free parking. Throw back steakhouse feel with well stocked bar and indoor, enclosed fireplace.
-- Large dining room can easily accommodate mobility access chairs/strollers.
-- Quiet, non-music interior makes for easy talking and accommodating to hearing impaired.
-- Subdued lighting
-- Decent menu--appetizers, main, & dessert.
>> End Takeaway: Worthy steakhouse stop.
