I have been driving trucks for 14 years. I have met good and bad people throughout my career, but this is the first time I have encountered such a bad place. I brought a load here. We drove as a team all night and they didn't take the load I brought early in the morning. A man came and said we will take your load tomorrow so he told me very badly to get out of here. "Okay, but I have to tell my boss first," I said. "If I go without telling my boss, it will be a problem for me," I said. He told me to leave by saying "I don't care about your boss". Then that man left, and another man came. The newcomer said more sternly that I had to get out of here immediately and said that he would call the police. I said go call the police and started looking for a truck stop on my phone. The man was still talking loudly. He said he worked for the government. I laughed because if I were America, I wouldn't even employ such a man as a monkey in a circus. The worst place I've ever seen. If you're going to come here you need to be prepared for this. The worst place you'll ever see.

If you are delivering here a DOD load(maybe others too) DON'T CALL UP AHEAD TO TALK TO THEM, OTHERWISE THEY WILL NOT UNLOAD YOU until your appointment. You going to meet a guy named Will (seating in the furthest corner in the DLA office), he is a total unhappy person. He will be rude to you, your dispatcher, and your broker. The process of unloading is fairly easy. First you will scale in loaded. Then you will scale out unloaded. The guy who seats closer to the entrance door inside there trailer is a very nice gentleman.

This was ridiculous. I can not tell you what we took there today. 2 bicycles, 2 two ton jacks, 2 propane tanks ( was told couldn’t take them bc of no hole in the bottom. Then the office told the guys to take them and set them aside). When I asked about the $17 dollars they gave me. Now remember, I had numerous rusty tools. Some things I knew were made of steel. But they told me everything was iron. At 0.07 a pound.

I got more when I use to save cans and take it to them 6 years ago.

I will not go there again. I do not encourage anyone to go there EVER!

They would not tell me until I unloaded everything. According to their scales there was only 3# of stuff. 40 with stuff 37 after that. One jack weighed 40 pounds. Gas cans are 37 each.

Now that is the way this should work! Sold my aluminum cans there today. Clean operating conditions, fair price for the service, good staff, no flat tires!! I just wish it was a little closer to my house. I will be back there!

If you're visiting the first time, it's fairly confusing on policy and procedures. The signage could be improved to help those bringing the metal know where to go and how to navigate the process. Employees are helpful and kind, so that's a plus. They give slightly higher payment for metal than I've seen.

So, my girlfriend's car slung a rod and that is what started my Adventure. After taking the car to a shop and realizing that it wasn't worth fixing I called Junk boys and they offered me $180 and also said that they would come get the car. I called Angler and they told me that I would have to remove the fuel tank but they could do better than that. I took the car to angler scrap yard drove across the scales and then there was no sign to tell me which way to go nor someone to direct me. Next I finally get to the area that I am supposed to be in and they remove the car. I then drive back over the scale to collect my payment. When I go back to the window the woman hands me $153 and then promptly shuts the window. I proceeded to knock on the window explain to her that they gave me less than someone who Not only would I not had to have removed the fuel tank, they also would have came and gotten the vehicle. She then tells me that I can take it back, I proceeded to tell her how is that possible after you have grabbed it with a claw and crunched it. I must agree with the previous comments, this woman is extremely rude. This was a horrible experience and I cannot help but view this organization as Crooks. I would not take the scrapyard my coat hangers in the future. Please, please avoid this scrapyard at all costs. These are not the type of people that you want to do business with.

Yard is well maintained and as free of shrapnel on the ground as a scrap yard can be. Much better condition than the yards in Birmingham. Friendly staff will help offload if available. Easy to sell non ferrous metals such as copper, aluminum, and brass individually.
