Been a sourdough baker since the start of COVID, wanted to branch out with my flour choices. There are very limited local flour mills, decided to try this place. First loaf made yesterday with regular bread flour and Grist&Tolls French Red flour…wow what a blast of flavor to my boule! Also it made my crust crispier without being harder. Looking forward to using the other flours I’ve purchased from here!

I love this space, friendly, knowledgeable people and delicious flours and goods. I love the healthy whole grain flours and recommend this place to any baker- pastry, bread or any time you need flour, cornmeal, some alternative flours.

The flour is very good quality. It’s all whole grain and milled very finely, which makes it great to work with. They carry an interesting variety of flours, many of them heirloom varieties. The staff are always very friendly and helpful with any questions you might have.

Helpful and friendly service. A fun and unique place to visit. If you bake bread you will love the flour choices. Limited retail hours so check their website before visiting.

You'll miss G&T if driving too quickly. It's a gem I hope never switches to an exclusively online format (am too cheap to pay for shipping). I walked in--helpful person (forgot their name) recommended a special flour from UC Davis. Also splurged on some Jacobsen salt. Anyways, the 3131 UC Davis makes the best focaccia in the world. Happy baking!

I first became aware of Grist & Toll seeing their name and flours in bread from Bubb and Grandmas and other bakers around Los Angeles. When i started baking my own sourdough bread - i knew i had to find this shop and try some flours.

Every time i've had questions Isaac and Nan have been very helpful with their answers.

Grist & Toll go out of their way to source and mill the best flour you can find. Adding the flour from here to any of my breads always makes them taste so much better. I'm happy to see they are starting to teach some classes in 2020 and am looking forward to taking some.

Los Angeles is very lucky to have this stone-milled flour shop. But hey, the rest of the world can order the flour online too!

This is the ONLY place where I buy flour. It is locally sourced and simply delicious.

As a bread and pastry maker, I am excited to be able to purchase high quality flour for my dishes.

At first glance, the prices seem high, but when you think about the nutritional value of the flour and the unmatched taste, the sticker shock quickly fades.

The first time I used the flour, I made crepes. I did not tell anyone I used a new type of flour. Everyone talked about it being the best crepes I had ever made (and I've been making them every Saturday morning for several years).

**Edit

Recently, I began purchasing Cream of Wheat from Grist and Toll. My family loves it and more importantly, I am happy knowing that the nutritional content is much higher than the products available in most traditional grocery stores.
