If you are looking for a professional freight team who honors their rates, Schmieding is NOT the business you want to work with. In the beginning of 2018 I got a call from Schmieding and gave them the opportunity to quote lanes for the company I work for. They were competitive in 35% of the lanes quoted, so we brought them on. Then, when it came time to get coverage, suddenly they wouldn't cover at the rates quoted, so we stopped working with them.

Later in the year another rep from their company kept calling/emailing in an effort to earn our business back. The rates weren't as competitive, but Keith, the rep I was dealing with seemed genuinely interested in building a strong business relationship with us, so I went ahead and awarded them the lanes they offered the best rates on and gave them the opportunity to prove that they can be reliable.

Here's where things went sideways. A rate they offered on a WI lane was really low compared with the other brokers I was dealing with, so I called the person from their quoting dept. to confirm the rate was accurate (given our previous experience) and was told it was correct. They shipped that lane for us to WI in the beginning of March '19 with no issues. I shipped another load with them to a different lane in TX shortly thereafter, and mentioned via email that they can expect more loads for the WI lane, as we typically produced 3-4 loads a year for that location. Fast forward over a month later when I try to schedule another WI lane with them, and I'm told they "are going to pass on that lane now and moving forward". Over a heated conversation with my rep, it was brought to my attention that they lost $800 on the last load they ran nearly 2 months prior. If they had any integrity, they would have taken this load at another loss since it was THEIR ERROR that caused the problem. I was told via phone they would rectify this, but they did not follow through.

This could have easily been avoided had they caught their mistake after the first load shipped in March, and communicated the error, providing a revised the rate for future shipments. OR, if they would have been more willing to work with me on a solution, instead of just saying "no we aren't going to ship it". Now I have to ship using another carrier and take a loss for their careless mistake. We won't be doing business with them in the future, and I don't recommend them.

I've been working with Lee for a few months now. He is the kindest customer that I work with. He is understanding, honest and comes through on his word. Schmieding has grown to be one of our larger customers in such a short time and its because they are honest, pay their bills as promised and genuinely have the same goal in mind which is to grow each others business. In transportation, things happen trucks get held up, trucks breakdown, loads are changed and when this happens Schmieding has always worked with us to come to a resolution. We hope to continue our partnership for many years to come.

Schmieding Produce is a great company to work with and if problems happen (as they will in this industry) Ricky has always been there to resolve any issue. I look forward to many more years of working with Ricky and Schmieding Produce.

The worst company to work with. We've booked a load with Jacob Murray, he said that the delivery window will be next day by noon. He send us the rate confirmation. In the meantime we've dispatched our drivers and send them on the way to the pickup. 1 hour after that, he send us revised confirmation with 5pm delivery time, without letting us know that he changed it. Of course because we had a team, that was not an option for us. Afterwards he said that he will pay us TONU(Truck order not in use) of $150. 10 minutes later I've received an email that they are not going to pay anything. On the top of that, when I've called him to ask why is that, he had the worst behavior ever. As a manager with 12y of experience, I really really don't recommend working with them for any price. Jacob Murray you are the worst ever !!

Hauled a load for them the beginning of August. Have reached out numerous times. We're now in the start of November and still no pay. Truck arrived and the receiver kept saying there was no space for the product. Held that load for 4 days and still haven't gotten paid. Horrible. The chick, Viry, won't respond to emails and now the only guy that was responding has shot the ball back over to Viry, who doesn't even answer.
